Music Key Stage 3 - Find your Voice Lesson 7

Objectives

By the end of this lesson you will have developed…

Appraising skills and how to evaluate musical performance

Task 1

Discuss your targets set from last lesson and plan what you are going to work on for your final 15 minute rehearsal.

Success criteria

  • The performance includes a steady pulse and the parts are in time
  • The performance is sung in tune and the words are sung clearly
  • The piece uses riffs that sound like the instrument used in the track.
  • This performance includes a beat box rhythm that uses two or more sounds
  • Optional - There is more than one vocal melody performed with confidence.
  • Optional - There are at least two contrasting riffs, which copied from two different instruments.

Tips:

  • The performance may use the backing track for guidance.

Task 2

Each group will perform to the class. Your teacher will give each group a number, which will also be the running order for the performances.

All of you will be assessing each group that performs. You will use the whiteboards to note down WWW and EBI. Use the SUCCESS CRITERIA to help you with this. You will be expected to share this information with the class, so ensure you complete this for each group that performs.

Your teacher will film all performances and will complete your continuous assessment data that is shared with your parents.
