Key Stage 3 Music - Song Writing

Lesson 6

Lesson Objectives

  • To rehearse and perform your composition ready for assessment.
  • Learn how to peer assess another performance.

Starter

Discuss with your partner what your targets are for today's final rehearsal and performance. Share your targets with your teacher/the class before you start rehearsing

Practical - Composition Assessment

This will be your final assessment for this unit. Each group will be given a performance number. This will be the running order for today's performances.

Rehearse with the rest of your group, using the success criteria in your workbooks to help you.

Peer Assessment

Your teacher will organise which group you are assessing. e.g. group 1 to assess group 2's performance, and so on.

Plenary

Using a different coloured pen, evaluate your own group performance and discuss with your group.

Share the targets you wrote down with the group that you assessed. Make sure you write down that target in your worksheet.
