Performing Task 1
Using the hand out sheet, begin to learn the 4 chords needed for “Rude” by Magic.
- Slow tempo
- Skank rhythm (playing on 2 and 4)
- Extension – add a bass line on beat 1; invert the chords; sing and play at the same time
We will bring it together as a class band and perform the verse and chorus.
Assessment
You will perform one of the following Reggae songs:
- Three Little Birds
- One Love
- Rude (Magic) NEW OPTION
Your performance must include:
- Balanced instrumental parts (vocals, keys, ukulele)
- A bass line (on beats 1 and 3)
- Chords played on the off beat (beats 2 and 4)
- EXT 1: Use the ACMP ON function and play the chords along to a Reggae STYLE
- EXT 2: include the riff of the song
- EXT 3: include backing vocals/harmonies
