Lesson Objectives

• Learn how to create a melodic motif, like a theme tune, for each of the main characters.

Now you are ready to add the final layer of a melody to fit with the chords and bass line. Each of the characters will need their own theme tune so which will both reflect something of their personalities and sound musical by fitting with the background music of chords, bass line and drums.

Task 6

Follow the PowerPoint instructions 10 to 12 'creating a melody motif' to see how to do this for three of the characters. Again you can either copy the instructions exactly or if you understand the rules about how to keep it musical get even more creative and develop your own ideas. Watch out for the ADVANCED COMPOSITION tips if you wish to use more advanced techniques to make your even more musical.

You can do just three characters or go on and produce one for each of the heroes (and their Galactor enemies).
