Task 1c - Creative Sequenced Arrangement

You will be working from a skeleton score as in 1A and are expected to have a working knowledge of the prescribed style to which the piece is to be arranged in. The word creative is key here and you should aim to add to the material in order to present it as a convincing performance in the new style.

  • Loops, samples expected but editing required.
  • No continuous audio tracks permitted.
  • 20 hours work time.

Approach

  • Ongoing study of harmony and backing styles required.
  • Research key features of chosen style.
  • Analyse and learn parts to develop in arrangement.
  • Identify areas for development.
  • Sequence drum and bass parts to provide correct feel for track.
  • Sequence harmony.
  • Sequence melodic material.
  • Add performance data and mix.
  • Export wav file for burning (track 3 of CD).
