Ecosystem - An ecosystem is the living and non- living components of an environment and the interrelationships (connections) that exist between them.Fauna - the animals of a particular region.Flora – the plants of a particular region.Food chain - a series of animals and plants each dependent on the next as a source of food.Producer – an organism which makes food.Primary consumer - living organism that eats the producers.Secondary consumer - organisms that eat primary consumers.Top predator – an animal that naturally preys on others but is not consumed by any other organism.Herbivore - an animal that feeds on plants.Carnivore – an animal that feeds on other animals.Omnivore - an animal or person that eats a variety of food of both plant and animal origin.Adaptation- a genetic change, that helps an organism, such as a plant or animal, survive in its environment.
