Digital Literacy Key Stage 3 - E-Safety

Outline

You will use your drawn designs, the code from the code bank and the content material from the shared documents to create your E-Safety website.

Main

Your teacher will show you how to use the Serif program to create a website. Once you have been shown this program you will be given time to create your own website using the designs you created for Task Three.

Project Diary

Each lesson when you are making your app you need to decide what you are going to do.

At the end of the lesson you need to evaluate your performance. Did you manage to achieve what you wanted? Take a screen shot of your website at this point so you teacher can see what you have done from last week.

This will help you with your evaluations at the end of the project.

Self Evaluations

You will then evaluate your app using your peer assessment and your own thoughts and feelings on how you worked, how effective you think your website is, and what you would do differently next time. It is very important that you answer these questions in lots of detail. Remember to explain your answers as this will get you the higher marks.

Marks

Marks are equal across the whole project. So if you do not do a detailed design or evaluation but a fantastic website you will be limiting your marks, as all three sections are important.

Make sure you understand how you are being marked. There is a mark sheet at the back of this booklet, and if you do not understand make sure you ask your teacher!

Peer Assessment

Like in previous units we will conduct a peer assessment to find out what other people in your class think about your website. This helps you think about areas that you could improve and why you might like to improve them.
