Controlled Assessment - Making

Now you come to the making of your product. The most important things that you need to remember when you are making your product are to:

Make a detailed week-by-week diary of making

Note any quality control checks that you did in your diary

Note any modifications/suggested modifications that you did

Note any health and safety issues/risk assessments

Page sheets

In the making part of your controlled assessment, you will be spending most of your time constructing your final outcome. HOWEVER, before you do this you will need to do a manufacturing specification and a detailed working drawing of your final design.

Diary of making

YOU MUST keep a detailed diary of making. You will lose a lot of marks if you don't. Make sure that you take pictures throughout the making process so that you can put these into your folder. You can either do the diary of making on the computer, straight onto the A3 proforma. OR you can use the A5 pages to go in your planner, OR use the A5 booklet provided to keep in your folder.

You may need to look up the theory pages in order to read about health and safety, risk assessment, and quality control.
