• 2 questions about the set works from “Instrumental music” area of study. These are not the same as you have studied for AS. You must answer 1 of these questions by writing an essay, which will need to be completed in under 50 minutes.
• You will be asked to compare and contrast one or more musical features of 3 works.
• Could involve writing about form, texture, tonality, harmony, melody, metre and rhythm, or the resources used, showing what has remained similar over time, and what has differed.
