Spreadsheets Task 1


Task 1 - The Basics

The mayor of Christchurch has decided to open an adventure park for the residents. Before the park is to be built, however, the mayor wants to find out if it will be making a profit.

  1. Create a new folder in your ECDL folder. Call it spreadsheets
  2. Open Excel and open the 'Adventure Land Park Costs' worksheet from the shared area. Also open the 'Adventure Land Costing Sheet' spreadsheet
  3. Search for the text Delete this and delete this text.
  4. On the costing sheet, each sheet shows costs that the park will have to pay per month broken down. Using a simple formula - using the help function to help you with the formula - add the costs together.
  5. Copy the costs from the costing sheet to the Adventure Land Park costs sheet, paste them into the appropriate place.
  6. Sort the values in alphabetical order.
  7. The date of the grand opening of the park has changed to 01/06/2016, make suitable changes to the date.
  8. Save the Adventure Land Park costs sheet into your ECDL spreadsheets folder.
  9. Set user preferences in the application: User name, default folder to open and save files.

Using the link below, create a crossword using words in Excel that you know. You will have to give a clue for each Excel related word you use. Your crossword must have at least 10 clues.

When you have finished, print a copy and let someone else have a go to see how many they can get right.
