Product Design Year 7 - Evaluating


Overview

An essential part of making a product is to consider what went well and what could be better. By evaluating what you made you will better prepare you for future projects you may work on within technology.

Activities

Activity 1: Evaluating your Clock

Examine your Clock and folder and answer the following questions in FULL: I have given a guide after each question as to how long you should spend answering it. [?]

  1. Examine the Specifications that you wrote and comment on how well your Product meets each target. [10]
  2. Compare your Clock to the Ideas you drew of it. What differences exist between the real product and the picture and why do you think they differ? [5]
  3. What 2 things did you find the most difficult? [2]
  4. Look carefully through all the work you have completed over 8 weeks and decide on what you think you are good at. [6]
  5. Name 3 tools or materials that you now think you can use confidently and give a reason why. [2]
  6. Compare your project and another students. Decide what could be improved with each others product or portfolio and set each other 3 targets for your next Technology rotation. [10]
  7. Consider which parts of your design were difficult to make and could be improved. Use notes and sketches to describe a new clock which would be better than the one you have produced. [At least 10]
