Business BTEC - Unit 13 Assignment 1

Scenario

You are employed by Job Strive UK, a small recruitment agency that is located in Bournemouth, New Milton and Ringwood. The Director of the company Dave Bryant formed the company 9 years ago and for the first 3 years the company only operated from the Bournemouth office. The company has since expanded to cover more of the Dorset and New Forest area by opening subsequent offices in New Milton and then Ringwood.

The company has a database of both potential employees and companies that use the services of the recruitment agency whenever a job opportunity arises. If a vacancy arises the agency will look at the suitability of its job seeking clients on file but also will conduct a thorough recruitment selection process for the company to ensure that the best applicant is found. This will often include selective external advertising through various mediums to suit the budget of each client company in addition to any advertising that the company chooses to do internally.

Job Strive UK can also handle all application administration along with selection of suitable candidates for interview, based on the person specifications provided by the client company.

Although the recruitment services are not cheap, many companies prefer to source out their recruitment to an outside agency as it is beneficial in terms of both time and money particularly if they do not have to recruit on a regular basis. Also beneficial is the specialist knowledge that the recruitment company can offer.

The company has recently received three new instructions one from Highcliffe School for a Classroom Assistant, Dave Bryant will advise you of the other two and Dave Bryant has instructed you to deal with the selection process for these vacancies.

Waitrose for a Supermarket Assistant and WH Smiths for a Customer Services Assistant.
