Nazi Laws Home Study

How did Hitler make the Jews into non-citizens?

Type up what you have learnt in the lesson.

Provide examples of laws which:

  • Deprived Jews of a normal childhood.
  • Made it impossible for Jews to earn a decent living.
  • Publicly identified Jews as being Jewish.
  • Inconvenienced Jews or removed their ability to move around freely.

At which point did Jews cease to be citizens of Germany? Explain your answer.

How did the laws make other Germans think that Jews were not normal citizens? Explain your answer.

Propaganda Home Study

Write up the next section for your project. Use what you have learnt in the lesson and your own research to explain the role propaganda played in laying the foundations for the Holocaust. Try linking it to the last lesson on Nazi laws and consider why propaganda was so important to the Nazis in creating a Master Race and demonizing the Jews.

  • Remember to start with a question and answer your question.
  • Give plenty of examples, eg the posters you examined in the lesson.
  • I have attached the PowerPoint from the lesson to help you.
  • Include at least one visual and one written source in your project.
  • Try and include a written testament from a survivor.

Kristallnacht Home Study

Complete the next section of your project. Use the notes made in the lesson from the video and the worksheet and your own research to write about Kristallnacht (night of broken glass).

Remember to start with a question as your title, include at least one written and one visual source with attribution (ie the origins of the source) and link to previous sections (ie how does it link to the Nuremberg Laws and Propaganda) and the Holocaust (why is it significant in the history of the Holocaust?)

Good luck!

Ghettos Home Study

Complete the next section of your project. Use the notes made in the lesson and the video testimonies and your own research to write about the ghettos.

Remember to start with a question as your title, include at least one written and one visual source with attribution (ie the origins of the source) and link to previous sections (ie how does it link to Kristallnact, WW2, Laws and Propaganda) and the Holocaust (why is it significant in the history of the Holocaust?)

Useful Websites

Good luck with this section. Remember the more sources and the wider your research the greater your understanding of this stage in the Holocaust.

Concentration Camps Home Study

Complete the next section of your project. Use the notes made in the lesson and the video testimonies and your own research to write about the life in the camps.

Remember to start with a question as your title, include at least one written and one visual source with attribution (ie the origins of the source) and link to previous sections (ie how does it link to Final Solution, ghettos, WW2) and the Holocaust (why is it significant in the history of the Holocaust?)

PLEASE NOTE: This topic can be very disturbing. If you stick to the websites below you should not come across too many disturbing images but obviously it is hard to write about this without referring to the scale and nature of the atrocities that were committed at the camps.

Please think carefully about any images you include in this section and write appropriately. There is a lot to cover in this section so you may want to focus on one camp in particular, eg Auschwitz when writing about life and conditions. But if you do this try to include an overview referring to the number and different types of camps.
